How to make a solar panel, what you need to do
A solar panel is essentially a unit that takes solar cells that convert the energy from the suns rays into electricity. A solar panel is a great way to either cut down on that electricity bill, or find a way to use it to demonstrate the photoelectric effect.
The first step when learning how to make a solar panel is to take a sheet of cooper flashing, and using metal shears, cut it down to the size of the electric burner. Clean and scrub the copper flashing first to ensure its completely clean of dirt and corrosion. Place the copper flashing on the electric burner and turn the burner on. The cooper flashing will need to be cooked for a time period of up to 30 minutes to ensure a thick layer of black cupric oxide is developed on the surface. Once done, let it cool then wash the cooper flashing under some water and scrub the black cupric oxide off the surface. Do this step carefully so you remove the black cupric oxide, but not the red cupric oxide.

Using alligator clips, connect both together and place inside a wide mouth glass jar or plastic bottle with the top half cut off. Next, connect the alligator clip attached to the clean piece of cooper to the positive terminal of a micro-ammeter. Attach the alligator clip touching the cooked piece of cooper flashing to the negative terminal of a micro-ammeter. Next, mix salt and water to make a saltwater solution, and place on the plates making sure to just cover the plates and keep the alligator clips dry. Place the finished unit out in the sun and watch the micro-ammeter read your success.
